How it started
The Question
We are experienced laser operators located in Vancouver, WA.
One day in early 2021, we were asked the question: “Can your machine engrave wheels?”
While the equipment that we had at the time could not do that type of work, that question was intriguing enough for us that what resulted was a difficult two-year journey, set out with the express goal of being able to definitively answer that question.
In early 2023, we were able to proudly proclaim:
YES! It can absolutely be done!
Where it went
The Road to SEMA '23
Shortly after we successfully cracked the code on laser engraving wheels, we picked up a booth at SEMA 2023 to show this process to the world!
The conversations that we had there were very positive, very instructive, and ultimately helped to craft our vision for this service, to what it is today.
Many of the conversations that we had with folks from all over the globe were centered around logistics.
If we were to set up this idea as a business that offered engraving and finishing services, there would be some well-founded concerns with the logistics in sending us wheels to process, and sending them out once complete.
This was especially concerning for customers located outside of the U.S. who would be interested in offering laser engraved wheels to their own customer base.
Where it's going
The Path Ahead
With those conversations in mind, we quickly realized that the best path to success for this one-of-a-kind service rests in being able to put this process directly in the hands of manufacturers and retailers.
With that in mind, we have shifted focus from being a centralized location where clients would ship wheels to us for engraving and finishing, to a service that will allow us to provide the equipment, training, and support to manufacturers, retailers, and builders around the world in our process, so that they can facilitate these services, in-house!
While we will be providing companies with the tools and knowledge to engrave wheels, we are still hard at work at home, continuing work on process and technology improvements that will make this process faster and more efficient for our client base.
